Animal Taming Contracts
Animal trainers on ABCUO offer contracts for tamed animals. You need a minimum skill level of 20 before you can accept a contract. The variety of contracts offered will depend on your animal taming skill; at low skill levels you'll only be offered simple contracts such as sheep, while at high skill levels the creatures will range from simple to rare depending on what the animal trainer needs at the moment.
When a contract is offered, you can choose to accept or decline it. If you decline, you can't receive a new contract for a short period of time - about 30 minutes. If you accept the contract, you must complete it before you can work another one.
While attempting to fill a contract, if you're having trouble doing it you can choose to abandon it. If you do so the animal trainer won't give you a new contract for a longer period of time, about 5 hours.
To fill a taming contract, you must have all of the requested animals either in the stables, or with you as a follower and nearby when you're talking to the animal trainer. The animal trainer will not accept pets that have been previously shrunken. A new indicator has been added to the animal lore gump that lets you know if an animal has been previously shrunken. Because we haven't been tracking this until today, all existing pets will be marked as having been previously shrunk; contracts will have to be filled with newly tamed animals, not animals you already have.
At times you may be offered contracts that seem impossible because you do not have enough stable slots to hold all of the animals. Remember that you can also have the animals with you as followers, and at times this will be necessary in order to fulfill the contract.
Contracts will typically be a group of one or two types of animals. They may have special requirements - a color, a minimum stat or skill level, etc. Some of the requirements will be more difficult than others, and if you feel that a contract is too difficult to fulfill, you may want to simply decline it and work the next one offered.
Payment
Upon fulfilling a contract, the animal trainer will pay you with gold, and you may see a fame increase as well. At higher levels you will also receive a bonus item. The item given to you will be directly related to the gold reward:

Player PS's will be one of animal lore, animal taming, or veterinary. Pet PS's will be one of wrestling, anatomy, tactics, magery, magic resistance, evaluating intelligence, or meditation. The rare pets are animals that are otherwise untameable or even unavailable, but are not more powerful than existing pets.
The pet dyetub does not use regular dyes; you need to purchase the pet dyes from the animal trainer in order to use the pet dyetub. The pet hues are nothing flashy, just the slime/animal hues.
Considerations
The animal trainer rates the difficulty of each contract based on a number of factors. You can get a good idea of how difficult it's rated based on the amount of gold the trainer offers for the contract. The difficulty depends on a number of factors: the quantity of animals requested, the taming skill required, and the estimated taming difficulty - if the animal is aggressive, angers, must be subdued, animal rarity, whether there are additional requirements in the contract (such as minimum hit points), how easy it is to bring to stables, etc.
Not all contracts are going to be worth doing. You may decide that a contract is too tedious for the anticipated reward, and in those cases you will want to decline the contract and wait for the next one.
If you are offered a contract that includes a rare pet, don't instantly accept it. Yes, any contract with a rare pet should give a reasonably nice reward when completed. However, the value of the contract is still affected by the other animals in the contract. For example a contract for 5 bulls and a nightmare won't give as good a reward as a contract for 10 white wyrms and a nightmare. Considering the rarity of nightmares, you may want to hold on to that pet until you get the more valuable contract with the white wyrms.
