Lumberjacking
Lumberjacking is a pretty straightforward skill. Hold an axe in your hands and use it on a tree to start chopping. The logs you get as a result will be pretty heavy; put them in a pack animal or chop the logs with your axe to turn them into boards, which are more lightweight but serve the same purpose. Be aware that some crafted items require logs, not boards.
Having the lumberjacking skill also provides bonus damage when you are fighting with any two-handed axe type weapon.
Training lumberjacking by chopping trees can be tedious, as each tree has a limited amount of wood to offer. It's easier to train in combat - fight someone with a axe-type weapon (not a war axe) and your lumberjacking skill will increase.
