Item Identification
The main purpose of the item identification skill is to assist with unraveling items for imbuing. Activate the skill from the skill list and target a magical piece of equipment. That will tell you the item's magical intensity, as well as what magical component you will receive if you use the imbuing skill to unravel it.
Be aware that the item identification skill assumes you receive no benefit from a soulforge with bonuses. Because some soulforges provide an imbuing bonus, you may get a more powerful component from unraveling at that soulforge than the item identification skill indicates.
Repeated usage of the item identification skill will train the skill to 100.
