Slayers
A Slayer is a piece of equipment which, when worn, increases the damage you inflict during combat when you are fighting a particular type of enemy, by an amount equivalent to 150% damage increase. Slayers are identified by the slayer property listed on them. Here are the equipment types that may have a slayer property:
Weapons - Wielding a slayer weapon greatly increases your weapon damage against that creature type. Slayer weapons are often found as loot, or crafted with runic tools. Slayer bows can be found as loot from Juka Lords. When looted they appear as regular bows, however a player with 100 skill in bowcraft can use gears on the bow to reveal its slayer attribute, which will be random.
Spellbooks - Holding a slayer spellbook increases your spell damage against that creature type. Spells which do cold damage are the exception; their damage is unchanged. Slayer spellbooks can be crafted using a scribe's pen.
Musical Instruments - Using a musical instrument increases your success when using barding skills on a creature, provided the instrument slayer type matches the monster. Against creatures which are not of the instrument's slayer type, your chance of success is reduced to a level lower than regular instruments.
In general, slayers are a non-factor against players, but there is one exception: Players under the necromancer transformations of lich form, wraith form, or vampiric embrace receive 25% more damage when hit by a Silver weapon or cast upon by a mage using a Silver spellbook.
Slayer Types
Slayers in bold text are considered "Super Slayers" as they are effective against entire classes of creatures. However, super slayers do not do quite as much damage as regular slayers; the damage is equivalent to 100% damage increase.
